United Democrats are saddened to receive the news of the loss of ALDE Party President Hans Van Baalen

Hans Van Baalen has throughout the years served the cause of liberalism, democracy and respect for human rights. Above all he was a fervent European and upheld the project of the European Union as a peace project. He was honoured by the late President of Cyprus Demitris Christofias for his efforts to contribute to the reunification of Cyprus.

He will be greatly missed.
